Li Xianting’s Film Fund was founded by art critic Mr. Li Xianting as a nonprofit organization on October 16th 2006 during the Beijing Independent Film Festival. It is aimed to support Chinese independent films for production, promotion, communication and academic purpose.

Li Xianting’s Film Fund will continually collect and preserve Chinese independent films especially independent documentary films. The film fund will also financially support about ten Chinese independent film projects each year. All the supported projects can be in project development, production, post-production or distribution.

The Film Archive of Li Xianting’s Film Fund is under construction. With richest films, materials and books of Chinese independent films, the film archive will serve the researchers and filmmakers. The film fund also run the professional film magazine Notes on Films

Li Xianting’s Film Fund also co-presents the most important independent film events in China: Beijing Independent Film Festival and China Documentary Film Festival.

栗憲庭電影基金是由栗憲庭先生發起的非盈利基金，於2006年10月16日在首屆北京獨立電影論壇上成立。栗憲庭電影基金的宗旨是扶持中國獨立電影的發展和研究、促進中國與世界電影文化的交流和溝通。

栗憲庭電影基金將完整系統的收藏和保護中國的獨立電影特別是獨立紀錄片(基金第一筆捐贈來自藝術家方力鈞先生的10萬元人民幣，主要用於與宋莊美術館合作收藏34部中國獨立紀錄片)，資助小成本的獨立電影特別是獨立紀錄片的創作、推廣和發行，特別是，這些支持包括項目發展、製作、後期和發行的資金支持等。電影基金還在建設一個世界上藏有中國獨立電影最豐富的一個電影資料館，該資料館連同電影基金的收藏品一起爲來自國內外的電影研究者的學術研究提供便利條件。同時，電影基金還辦有嚴肅的專業電影刊物《電影劄記》。

另外，栗憲庭電影基金還是中國兩項最重要的年度獨立電影展：北京獨立電影論壇和中國紀錄片交流周的主辦和支持機構之一。
